The journey to add Celia to your team in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a whole separate story in itself. When it's all said and done, Celia comes out with a happy ending. During battle, she is a short-range melee fighter about as good as the average melee character.
When you're finished with 15 cooking battles, Celia will automatically be added to your party, revealing her big twist in Kurtz's story and giving you another recruit. The easiest way to do all the cooking battles is to check in at the inn each time you come back to HQ and see if a chef is standing by the front desk, battling them if they're there. This will expedite your progress on this story.
