How to Recruit Mellore

During the Watch Captain's first job, you will run into a little girl in Eltisweiss that will ask how to get to the very dangerous Redthroat Ridge. Nowa says you should go after her and as you go to leave town, you see her talking with a solider outside the gate, clarifying which direction to go. She runs off and you head all the way to Redthroat Ridge.

When you run into Mellore again in the ridge, she thinks Nowa is a villain and tries to fight Nowa and his party. Then she tells you there's a monster, Nerthus, there causing problems and that she planned to fight it all by herself and convinces you to join her. She joins you temporarily to fight the monster. To get to the monster, just make your way to the back of the Ridge, heading all the way North on the East side. Defeat it using the gimmick, choosing the left or right depending on which side the monster is on, to deal extra damage with the grimoires. After defeating the monster, she can be recruited to join full-time!
